DIY Gift Ideas

The past few days I have accumulated quite a collection of really neat-o
"pins" {from Pinterest, of course!} of easy and fun DIY gift ideas for
many different occasions. Most of these also include step by step
tutorials to guide you along the way. Here are some of my most
favorite ideas that I plan on trying very soon. In case you didn't know,
there are only 111 days until that bearded white-haired man in the
infamous velvety red suit comes to visit! Hope you find some
inspiration as well... homemade gifts are always the best!!

1. Homemade Sugar Scrub- Whip up some homemade sugar scrub and pack it
into cute little decorated jars. Find tutorials and recipes for making this
heavenly stuff as well as the cutesy jar labels here.

2. Cowgirl Cookies In A Jar- courtesy of Bakerella. Traditional oats, chocolate
chips and pecans with some added pink m&m’s to make them more girly.

3.  Welcome to the new world of chalkboard paint!! You can do almost
anything with this stuff! You have gotta check out this tutorial on making
these cute {and very functional} wine glasses. You know... when you host
that girls night complete with several bottles of wine and we all walk around
all night going "whose glass is this??" Perfect.

4. Etched glass anything!! But especially casserole dishes. What a great
idea for covered dish dinner night at church! Never loose another dish...
or maybe not. I have etched a few glass pieces, and as intimidating as it
was at first, it's really not that hard or complicated. The only negative to this
project is that glass etching materials can be a bit pricey. Tip: Get this at your
local Michael's Arts & Crafts and use a weekly coupon and you could
save up to 50% off.

5. Homemade tile coasters made with scrapbooking paper. Oh the
design possibilities are endless. If you ever visited the scrapbook paper
section at any crafts store, you know this already!  What an easy idea!!

6. This one hits my "cupcake love" hotspot!! Love, love love!! Very
simple and you can even let the kiddos help you with this one.

7. Ok so, I know you've seen all those cute {all-seasonal} scarves on
everyone's neck here lately. And guess what... you can make these on
your own with supplies you probably already have on hand... minus a hefty
price tag! Fun, flirty and fashionable! I'll take one in every color! Check
out this site for this easy t-shirt scarf tutorial.

8. This is probably #1 on my list. I am in love! These were created as a
bridesmaid survival kit, but you could use this idea for so many other
themes as well! These are mini suitcases filled with fun things such as safety
pins, a small sewing kit, kleenex, mints, chewing gum..... all the things
that a bride... or maid... may need on the BIG DAY!
