...was a pretty busy week around here! I think it took
me most of the weekend to “recover” from all the excitement. Or maybe that was just the excuse I used
to justify my staying in pj’s for the majority of 2
whole days. And do I feel bad about it??...
Not at all! :)
My week started off with cake! Hard to believe,
right?! (Not so much for me.) This month has ended up
being NOTHING BUT CAKES, actually. It’s kind of crazy
to think that October would be my busiest month, but
it definitely has. And lots of fun cakes too...
carnivals, baby deer, lady bugs, spooky monsters... you
name it. This week happened to be “Lady Bugs” and I
had such a good time creating this sweet hunk ‘o sugar love! It is surely on my ‘Top 10 Favorite Cakes’ list.

Ryan was invited by his sweet little friend, Gibson,
to go to the McWane Center on Friday night for their
Spooktacular SleepOver, so we spent some time last
week making a few “spooky goodies” for him to take. I
also got lots of photo updates throughout the night
and from the looks of it, I think it would be safe to
say they had a great time! And I am even happier at
the fact that Gibson's mom survived the night with
these two! Oh, and I should probably mention that this
was Ryan’s first real sleepover away from home, and I
was a little nervous, but he did perfect!!

I was pretty pooped by Friday night and wasn’t really
up for any kind of major outing, so my other half and
I found ourselves having a late, cozy little dinner at Cracker Barrel. We haven’t been there in quite some
time; our last several visits had not been the best experience. However, as soon as we sat down, I quickly noticed that there was this new nazi-type, I’m assuming
manager, that was running the show. You could literally HEAR her in the kitchen keeping everyone in perfect
order. We were pleasantly surprised at the improvement
in their customer service and timeliness, as well as
the quality of the food. She is a keeper, if you ask me! One of my favorite things about CB (aside from the
hash brown casserole and apple butter) is shopping in
their cute little country store. Most of my Christmas ornaments and decorations came from CB and I always go
back every year to add new things. (I usually try to make
a trip AFTER Christmas as well because everything is
marked down to like 60-75% off.) So... not only was I
stoked about the new manager, but I was super stoked
about the new ornaments that I got for our tree
this year. I still have my eye on a few more things that
I want, but for now... these make me happy!

And last but not least... We spent Saturday night at
Chuy's, one of our very favorite places... with some of
our very favorite people... my brother and soon-to-be SIL. And if this photo confuses you...
